Medical School: Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Hey y’all- welcome to our program here in Corpus Christi.
I grew up in Northeast Georgia (Go Braves) and then headed out to Utah for undergrad. I took some time during college to head to Bogotá, Colombia to serve a mission for my church for two years. During college , I married my beautiful wife and returned to Georgia for medical school. We have 2 kids, ages 6 and 4, with one more on the way and couldn’t be happier to be in Corpus Christi for residency. Our residency program is truly one huge family- we have plenty of parties and spend a lot of time together. Whether you are single or married with kids you will fit right in.
During my fourth year of medical school I came down to check out South Texas and rotate with the residency program. I was blown away as none of my other emergency medicine rotations came close to my rotation here. As a medical student, I witnessed first hand the educational opportunities that an unopposed training program provides. At our program we do all of our own procedures, whether it be joint reductions, intubations, chest tubes, central lines, or thoracotomies, we do ‘em all. We don’t have other residents competing with us and so whatever comes in the door we get to handle. Apart from the unopposed nature of our program, the acuity is ridiculous. I challenge you to come and see for yourself and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Come hang out with us in Corpus Christi and spend a day on the beach, check out the Corpus Christi Hooks baseball team at Whataburger field or hit up the Texas State aquarium on your days off. The beaches here are amazing and you are within 15 minutes of the beach no matter where you live. There is plenty of entertainment, great restaurants and fun to be had while here. I hope you will have a chance to come spend some time with us.
