Medical School: University of North Texas - TCOM
I was born in Fort Gordon, Georgia, but as a child my family moved around quite a bit. I've lived in Georgia, Arizona, and New York, but I now call Texas my home. I have always had some sort of job ever since I was 14, including catering for Sandy Lake Amusement Park in Carrollton, bartending at a dive in Denton, and working for an orthopedic surgeon in Lewisville, to name a few. I met my wife when I was in high school, and we have been together ever since.
I went to undergrad at the University of North Texas in Denton and majored in Biology. For medical school, I went to UNT - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
On January 27, 2014, my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world, Madelyn Paige. Life with her has been an adventure so far, but we're loving every minute of it!
I come from a family with 5 kids, so family is really important to me. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my wife, my daughter, and friends, going to the beach, working out, catching a movie, and playing poker. While my favorite sport is football (go Cowboys!), I enjoy playing and watching many different sports and am always up for a pick-up game. While in Corpus, I'm determined to learn how to kite-board! My wife and I also enjoy cruises and are trying to plan our next escape.
Corpus is a great place to live with many attractions, including the Texas State Aquarium, the USS Lexington, Hooks baseball games, and of course the beach!
The EM residency program here drew me in mainly because of the great people. The members of the faculty are fantastic teachers, and the rest of the program's staff is energetic and always eager to help. Since there isn't really any other program competing with us here, we pretty much have our run of the hospital. All of the residents are awesome and everybody gets along.
Corpus is the place to be if you are looking for a program with great people, great education, and many activities in the city and surrounding area.
