Medical School: UT - San Antonio

I grew up in San Antonio Texas and have been married now for almost 10 years to a beautiful wife.  We are somehow blessed enough to be parents to an adorable and feisty 6 year old daughter.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em!) with a degree in Biology then earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  Following my career in mechanical engineering, I decided to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

Corpus Christi is just a short 2.5 hr drive from San Antonio and having grown up so close to Corpus, I spent many summers enjoying the beach with my family and friends.  The City of Corpus Christi has a lot to offer.  I enjoy spending my free time fishing off of the pier, deep sea fishing, playing golf (with an awesome beach view), playing in the sand and the surf, riding my bike along the boardwalk, watching the Corpus Christi Hooks minor league baseball games, visiting the aquarium (which my daughter loves!), and enjoying one of the many great restaurants.

I chose to pursue Emergency Medicine because I wanted to see vast degrees of pathology and a diverse patient population, and perform bedside procedures.  The Christus Spohn EM program offers this and much more.  I feel very fortunate to be part of a program that offers so much to its residents.  The faculty and staff are exceptional.  Not only are the faculty great clinicians, they are also great mentors.  There is no doubt that I made the right choice to train in EM at Christus Spohn in Corpus Christi.
