Medical School: Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine
After spending four years in medical school hundreds of miles away from friends and family, I was excited for the chance to return to TX. However, when making my rank list, I knew that I couldn’t sacrifice the quality of a program, and my training, in order to be back home. I rotated as a student in Corpus Christi, giving me the opportunity to see the program for an entire month. What stood out to me was the acuity of the patients. I knew I could train at this program and be competent in any situation in the future. Also, medical school and residency is too long of a journey to not be able to enjoy the experience as much as possible. It was important to me to find a residency program with people who shared that approach. This program respects its residents and its leadership continue to be our biggest advocates. Since starting residency, I have always had a support system. Every shift, I work with people I can count on and who want me to succeed. I couldn’t be more grateful to be at Christus Health!
