Hello, everyone! I come from a family of 6 siblings, I’m the only one still learning a trade, and I don’t always tell people I was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. I call the Piney Woods of East Texas home for obvious reasons (because Texas is amazing). After residency, I plan to head back and put roots down.  My interests range from wrenching on cars and playing guitar/singing to scratch-building and flying R/C planes to enjoying nature and traveling. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University where I earned a degree in Biology and Chemistry. Then I headed to Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas for medical school. I was fortunate enough to match to my number one choice program here in Corpus Christi.

Life here has far exceeded my expectations for residency. Not because I long to stretch out and catch some rays on one of our beautiful local beaches, but because of my colleagues. They are commandingly skillful, talented, and hard working and balance these traits with having fun and endless wit. Looking back, I called my parents on the second day of my audition rotation here in Corpus Christi and declared, “This is it, I’m done looking. This is the one.”  Nowhere else during my audition rotations did I feel so charmed, welcomed and invited. Residents here quickly cultivate quality friendships that last a lifetime.

I realized what the residency ‘X-factor’ was for me during the interview season.  I wanted a program that would become my home away from home; a place where other residents and faculty become our cherished mentors, both professionally and personally. Role models and coaches for growing knowledge and ED expertise but also supportive of our well-being,  family relationships, and investment in our futures.  Please look seriously at our program. It is a great place for a Medical Student rotation and to train in Emergency Medicine.
