Medical School: University of North Texas Health Science Center
Undergraduate: Texas Christian University
I grew up in San Antonio, just a short drive up the highway from Corpus Christi. My family would vacation on the beaches of Mustang Island every summer, a mere 20 minute drive from my current house. My undergraduate career took me to Fort Worth, TX where I graduated from Texas Christian University and met my beautiful wife, Hannah. We got married a mere seven days before starting medical school (also in Fort Worth) at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
I was lucky enough to do the emergency ultrasound rotation here as a 4th year student, where I was able to see first-hand what an incredible program this is. The first thing I noticed was how happy all the residents were. Sure, we work hard here and have frustrating days, but the other residents and the attendings make those days so much better. Speaking of the attendings, I’ve never seen better working relationships between residents and attendings than at this program. I always feel like they have my back in any situation. As the saying goes, calm seas do not make good sailors. We are in the thick of it from day one here, which is exactly what you want from a training program.
My wife and I, along with our daughter Charlotte, find so much fun and fulfillment in Corpus Christi. From a relaxing day at the beach, to exploring the incredible aquarium and museums, or just hanging out with other residents and their families, we feel at home here at this program and in this city.
